Review: “I learned more than I thought possible in the 24-week course period.”

My experience in the program was excellent. I learned more than I thought possible in the 24-week course period. It was an intense time, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I chose to attend because I had been interested in software development for a long time, but I didn’t know how to get the training I would need. When I saw the program advertised online, I knew that it was right for me.

My life has been impacted by gaining relevant skills for the current job market, plus the knowledge to learn any new languages or frameworks I may need. Even though I took a slight pay cut for my first developer role, I know that will be temporary and I am set for success in the future.

Review: “I just want to say thank you to everyone — my instructor, TAs, career services, Student Success Manager, and classmates who supported me throughout the entire program.”

I had an awesome experience in the program. Everyone was really helpful and it was a great way for me to change careers. I started learning programming in college, but then had a gap in my studies for five years. When I began the course, I was totally blank and everything was new, due to new frameworks programming methodologies. I heard about [Penn LPS Coding Boot Camp] and felt like it was a good opportunity to learn and change my career. I just want to say thank you to everyone — my instructor, TAs, career services, Student Success Manager, and classmates who supported me throughout the entire program and provided both moral support and assistance.
Review: “The intensity of this program was exactly what I needed to challenge myself to learn a lot of new skills in a short amount of time and immerse myself in the web development world.”

I have a background in fine arts and began studying web design a few years ago as a way to apply my visual communication skills towards a new career path. Through that process, I discovered a passion for coding. I learned about the [Penn LPS Coding Boot Camp] at a point when I was searching for opportunities to expand my network and accelerate my learning to make my career transition in the near future. I was impressed by the partnership between UPenn and Trilogy as well as the focus on career development.

I think the intensity of this program was exactly what I needed to challenge myself to learn a lot of new skills in a short amount of time and immerse myself in the development world. Having structured projects to build my portfolio and populate my GitHub account was also a huge benefit as I started thinking about applying for jobs.

I know that I still have a lot to learn about web development and the tech industry in general, but I’m now confident in my ability to continue learning these new skills and am hopeful that once I get comfortable working in a professional development environment, I’ll be able to move up to a more senior role quickly.

I wanted to expand my skills and market readiness as a full-stack developer. I am an experienced back-end/middle-tier programmer with desktop front-end experience, but I knew I needed to be hands-on with both front-end and full-stack open source web development tools.

The program was a great fit, and even before completing the program I was able to apply what I had learned in the work I was doing. It prepared me for the very next role I took on. I look forward to more interesting work in the future, both professionally and in my personal projects.

I chose to attend this program because I wanted to change my career from being a teacher. There aren’t many opportunities for growth in teaching, and I was feeling pretty stuck. I really wanted to start a career with more opportunities for learning and higher earning potential. My instructor and TAs were excellent — their passion and experience were invaluable. Kaitlyn was also a major resource; she is kind, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable. I relied on her experience at many stages in the job process, and she was always willing to help.
