  • While some background knowledge is helpful, no experience is needed as long as you are dedicated and eager to learn. Our pre-course tutorials will help you prepare for our program.
  • At Penn LPs Boot Camps, it’s not about your experience, your resume or your degree—it’s about your passion and drive to succeed. Web development is tough work, and we look for learners who are determined and willing to give the program their all in order to achieve life-changing results.
  • No, applicants do not need to be University of Pennsylvania students.
  • Our program has an application process and is not open enrollment. Once you complete the form or call our admissions department, you will have an initial phone interview with an advisor. Applicants recommended to move forward will then take a critical thinking and problem-solving coding test. Those who pass the academic test will have a final interview with our academic department to determine if they are accepted into the program.
  • No, the only requirement is that you be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • We offer the flexibility of a part-time program, allowing working professionals to study web development without leaving work, as well as a full-time program for those who want to complete the course at a faster pace.
  • Our curriculum is built based on the most in-demand technologies specific to the Philadelphia market.
  • Learners benefit from a robust set of professional development services to prepare them for success as they work to advance or change careers.
  • Our part-time program requires 10 hours of in-class time per week. In addition, you must be willing to dedicate a minimum of 20* hours to outside work per week (*depending on experience) in order to truly immerse yourself in the materials covered in class.
  • Our full-time program requires 20 hours of in-class time per week. You must be willing to dedicate a minimum of 20-30* hours to outside work per week (*depending on experience) in order to thrive in this accelerated course.
  • Yes, a reliable laptop is required for this course. Laptops can be Mac or PC, with a minimum 8GB of RAM and a dual-core processor (64 bit).

  • No, previous experience is not required. While having some background can help, our pre-course materials will get you up to speed and ready to get started on day one.
  • Learners can expect to commit a total of 240 hours to the class (10 hours of class each week). Including self-study, we recommend setting aside 30+ hours per week during the course.

  • The online coding boot camp offers learners the exact same curriculum and outcome, but with the advantage of online classes. Both boot camps teach the same thing first and foremost — how to think like and become a developer.
  • Yes. Learners will build front-end websites, create full-stack single-page applications and more through real-world projects as they gain practical web development experience and build a professional portfolio.
  • Learners may be concerned about being isolated and not having the right support network in place when learning online. As part of the online coding boot camp, we’ve created a strong sense of community where you can engage and work with your peers to help each other overcome problems, as it’s likely you’ll be working through the curriculum at roughly the same pace. You will be able to engage with other participants through a dedicated Slack channel. In addition to other learners, you will have a network of staff members to motivate and support you. These layers of support include Teaching Assistants, a Learner Success Team and a Career Services Team.
  • Before and after class daily, we hold structured office hours. Learners can join breakout groups that cover specific topics like this week’s homework or yesterday’s class, or can choose to work solo with 1:1 help from an instructional staff member.
